Come run the country roads of rural Poetry, Texas on Saturday, October 8th! Poetry is about 45 minutes due east of Dallas (Highway 80 through Terrell or Interstate 30 through Rockwall). This race is a Run/Walk, so come on out whether it's your 1st 5K or you're trying to set a new PR! The Family Fun Run/Walk is 1 mile for family groups who wish to enjoy the October weather in Poetry. 5K Runner $35 and Fun Run/Walk $25. Proceeds from this event will benefit students at Poetry Community Christian School through the building of a High School Gym/Community Center. Water Stations will be located along the course. Stay and enjoy the Post-Race Fall Festival. We will have food, vendors, games, kids' activities, a raffle, and much more.

8 a.m. will be the start time for both the 5K and 1M
Cost
5K Run entry fee is $35 (includes: T-Shirt, bandana, and goodies.)
1M Fun Run entry fee is $25 (includes: T-Shirt, bandana, and goodies.)
Awards
5K winners will receive medals and 1M top finishers will receive ribbons.
Chip Timing
THE RACE WILL BE TIMED USING BIB TAG TIMING CHIPS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BIB IS CLEARLY VISIBLE ON THE FRONT OF YOUR BODY. CHIP TIMING STARTS WHEN YOU CROSS THE MAT SO EVEN IF YOU START FROM THE BACK OF THE PACK YOUR TIME STARTS WHEN YOU CROSS THE STARTING MAT. POETRY 5K WILL USE A GENUINE SHOTGUN START FOR THE RACE. THE AWARDS FOR THIS EVENT ARE BASED ON YOUR FINISHED CHIP TIME. AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN OUT AFTER THE LAST RACERS COME IN. TIMING PROVIDED BY R2WTS.
